Sustainability

Copper Coast Woodcrafts take pride in being sustainable. We have a sustainable philosophy and we are also proud to be a unique, Irish-owned business. We create a range of contemporary gifts, the coolest retro skateboards and food and drink items which will enrich any kitchen.

Copper Coast Woodcrafts work mainly with fallen native Irish hardwoods like Ash and Beech.  The wood is cut green, processed and then either air or kiln-dried down to stable moisture content (8-10%).  Most of the products you see on this site have been dried over a period of 6 to 12 months and in cases like Oak, have been drying for 2 years or so to give you the best product finish possible.  When you buy from Copper Coast Woodcrafts you are buying a genuine handcrafted Irish product that you can cherish for many years.

Gary is a master craftsman who lives and breathes carpentry. He loves the outdoors and nature and he ethically sources timber locally for all Copper Coast Woodcraft products.

Gary is local to Tramore in County Waterford and he often brings nature and natural elements from the coastal location into the Copper Coast Woodcraft design process and product creation, with pieces featuring sea waves, and leaves and pieces are often surf-inspired.

Gary is also proud to be a member of Waterford Crafts. This is a network and co-op of crafters from all across the county who aim to share their creative work and support each other. Waterford Crafts hosts a number of craft fairs annually the most popular being the festive craft fair at Garter Lane in Waterford City each Christmas.
